Two arrested on drug trafficking, possession charges

AUBURN, Ala. - On Jan. 14, 2026, Auburn Police, with assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Opelika Police Department, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Daron Mykel Dafney, age 28, and Jamie Marquez Holland, age 20, both currently residing in Auburn, Alabama. Dafney and Holland were each charged with drug trafficking, possession of marijuana second degree, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrest stems from Auburn Police conducting a narcotics investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 4300 block of Golf Club Drive on Jan. 14. During the search warrant, illegal narcotics and contraband were recovered. Police also developed evidence of the operation of a criminal enterprise involved in trafficking illegal narcotics. Multiple firearms were seized during the search.
Dafney and Holland were apprehended at the home when the search warrant was executed. After further investigation, both men were arrested for charges associated with the narcotics related criminal activity.
This investigation is ongoing with the possibility of additional charges. Dafney was transported to the Lee County Jail and is currently being held without bond. Holland was also transported to the Lee County Jail and held on a $52,000 bond.
All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
